PRI on the ground

PRI on the ground combines all our community pages so you can connect with other pigment people around the globe or in your neighborhood. PRI was founded with the objective of building an international pigment community that connects us with one another to share knowledge, learn, provide support and so you know you're not the only person crazy about pretty dirt!

pigment community

While the title here says

"Pigment Community", it should actually say "Pigment People Community", because community is about people and our relationships with one another.

Community is not about the organization, or even the sharing of information between us—community is where we have a sense of belonging, where we build trusting relationships, and support and care for one another. To build a community there has to be a common denominator, a shared interest or history and a desire to meet our common needs within that realm.

When I began dreaming about Pigments Revealed Symposium it was out of need for community. I had worked entirely alone in my pigment research and practice for more than two decades, time during which I knew there were others of us out there but had no way of connecting with anyone.

I dreamed of having people to learn from, share with, discuss ideas, and to have someone understand my crazy love of colored “dirt”, and I imagined all of you dreaming the same things. During those years I was called the Crazy Paint Lady by family, friends, colleagues and strangers, but what MADE me the CPL filled me with satisfaction, with purpose, direction and passion that nothing else ever had. And I knew there were others who felt the same way.

Over a period of about 30 years I’ve watched the pigment world slowly bud, and over the past 10 years I’ve seen it blossom and bear fruit. Each and every one of you are the fruit and you make up this community of Crazy Paint People.

Thank you for being one of us!
